Hello

My name is Hugh, I was born in Lincolnshire. I have a wife and two grown up children. I believe that counselling can help people to face the hurts, habits and hang ups which restrict life. My approach is to allow people to talk about the important aspects of their lives and face up to fears. The impact can create a sense of freedom for people to be who they've always wanted to be.

My Story

I am a trained qualified and licensed counsellor. I am a member of the International Society of Psychotherapists and Counsellors [ISPC] and adhere to their Code of Ethics and Practice. I am fully insured and have obtained enhanced disclosure CRB clearance.

I have 25 years of experience counselling adults. I initially worked as a volunteer for a Nottingham based charity since 2001; the charity saw adults, couples and children providing a range of therapeutic interventions. I provided supervision to other counsellors who volunteered for the charity.

In April 2009, I set up a private practice; I have a comfortable easily accessible setting in Eastwood, just off the main Nottingham Road. I also offer, to suit your need, home-based, workplace, telephone counselling or online via Skype or WhatsApp video calling. I will contract with employers to offer counselling to employees with personal or work-related issues.

My training was as a person-centred counsellor but my practice draws from other disciplines and now sits within an eclectic approach.

In March 2010 I volunteered with Nottingham Prison. I work on a programme providing a faith-based 12-step recovery programme for anyone who wanted to address their attitude towards offending behaviour. The recovery programme was called Celebrate Recovery.
